PATRICIA
E. SALKIN
Patricia
E. Salkin is an Associate Dean of the Albany
Law School of Union University and Director of the Government
Law Center at the school. In addition to the Albany Law School,
in the last ten years Professor Salkin has also taught various law
and policy courses at the University of Albany and Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute. Before the beginning of her professorial career, Ms.
Salkin has served as an assistant counsel for the New York State
Office of Rural Affairs, and earlier as an assistant to a state
Senator and a federal congressional representative.
Through
her professional activities, Ms. Salkin is a chairperson for the
Amicus Curiae Committee of the American Planning Association, a
member of the Steering Committee of the Council on Government Ethics
Law, a grant reviewer for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development, and a consultant for Duncan & Associates for the
new zoning code for the city of Rochester, NY. She was the author
of two highly competitive FIPSE grants awarded to Government Law
Center by the U.S. Department of Education in 1994 and 1998. She
is also a reporter for the Land Use and Zoning Digest of
the American Planning Association.
Ms.
Salkin has given presentations to national, state and local professional
organizations and government entities on issues of land use law,
government ethics, urban and municipal law.
Ms.
Salkin has a BA from the University at Albany and a JD from the
Albany Law School of Union University, and is admitted as a member
to the bars of New York and New Jersey.
