FRANK
MAURO
Frank Mauro
is the Executive Director of the Fiscal
Policy Institute (FPI), a nonpartisan research and education
organization focusing on New York's tax, budget, economic and related
public policy issues. Founded in 1991, FPI works from its two offices
in New York City and Albany to further the development and implementation
of public policies that create a strong economy in which prosperity
is broadly shared by all New Yorkers. Prior to joining FPI in 1993,
Frank was Deputy Director of the State University's Nelson
A. Rockefeller Institute of Government, where he is currently
a Senior Fellow and the Director of the New York State Network for
Economic Research. He previously served as Director of Research
for the New York City Charter Revision Commission and Secretary
of the Ways and Means Committee of the New York State Assembly.
He received twice the Air Force Commendation Medal for his work
in the field of race relations. Frank Mauro is a graduate of Union
College in Schenectady, New York, and received a Master of Public
Administration (MPA) degree in Metropolitan Studies from Syracuse
University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
