efforts of the organization. Interns participate in varied program
work, and are typically responsible for overseeing several projects
from beginning to end. We offer a number of exciting and challenging
internship opportunities throughout the year and make an effort
to tailor the responsibilities to the interests of each intern.
High school or college class credit can be arranged. Women and people

American Majority Institute
The American
Majority Institute is seeking interns for their Washington office.
For decades, progressives in America have lacked the strategy and
organizational ability needed to effectively combat the remarkable
policy apparatus that has been developed by conservatives. AMI is
a new nonpartisan research and educational organization that is
seeking to close that gap by: developing a longterm strategic vision
of a more progressive America; providing a forum to generate new
progressive ideas and policy proposals; responding effectively and
rapidly to conservative programs and rhetoric with a coordinated
critique and a lear alternative; and articulating and communicating
these messages to the American public. AMI is looking for interns
who are a rising junior or older with a GPA of at least 3.0. International
students must have INS authorization to work in the U.S. Deadlines

The
Supportive Housing Network of NY
The Supportive
Housing Network of NY is looking for paid interns for the fall semester.
The Network
seeks an intern who can assist with various advocacy campaigns that
promote supportive housing and influence federal, state and local
housing and homelessness policies. Interns will assist with an innovative
research project which focuses on the public-private investment
that has created nearly 20,000 units of supportive housing over
the last 20 years. Interns will collect, record and analyze funding
information on supportive housing. Other tasks may include public
organizing, coalition work and effectively communicating with community-based
organizations and members of Congress, the State Legislatures, the
City Council, and governmental agencies. Interns may also assist
with newsletter and other network communications. Candidates must
have strong interest in nonprofit work and housing policy, HIV/AIDS,
mental health and related issues. Excellent communication, analytical

an award-winning Web site about New York City that covers a wide
range of issues of central importance to New Yorkers - issues often
buried or ignored in the commercial press.
The intern for
the Citizen will select and translate articles from New York City's
foreign-language newspapers, and write original articles about NYC
immigrants and immigrant communities. Complete fluency in both English
and at least one other language required.
Translators
for the following languages are most urgently needed: Spanish, Arabic,
Italian, Hebrew, Yiddish, Greek, Bengali, and Urdu.
