FISCAL
POLICY INSTITUTE

The
Fiscal Policy Institute (FPI) is a non-partisan research and
education organization focusing on New York fiscal, economic and
related public policy issues. Founded in 1991, FPI is based in Albany
and provides regular analysis of issues related to the fairness
of New York's tax system and the stability and adequacy of state
and local public services. FPI has recently established a New York
City office and is broadening its work to cover a wider range of
economic and social issues that affect low and middle income New
Yorkers. FPI works closely with several national organizations addressing
fiscal and economic questions from a progressive perspective, including
the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, the Economic Policy
Institute, and the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy.
