The
Corporation for Supportive Housing

CSH
supports the expansion of permanent housing opportunities linked
to comprehensive services for persons who face persistent mental
health, substance abuse, and other chronic health challenges and
are at risk of homelessness, so that they are able to live with
stability, autonomy, and dignity, and reach for their full potential.
We work through collaborations with private, nonprofit, and government
partners, and strive to address the needs of, and hold ourselves
accountable to, the tenants of supportive housing. CSH works with
nonprofits and government to help local organizations gain the financial
and technical assistance they need to build more and better housing
with services; create cutting-edge demonstrations programs and experiment
with promising models to test new ideas; facilitate sharing of successful
techniques and strategies throughout the industry; and streamline
and improve development and funding systems. CSH's national priorities
include public education and advocacy aimed at increasing resources
for permanent supportive housing; evaluating the effectiveness and
cost-effectiveness of supportive housing; documenting and disseminating
effective approaches to housing and empowering homeless and disabled
people; and demonstrating the effectiveness of providing employment
services to the tenants of supportive housing.
